    Giovanni Benedetto Castiglione (baptized 23 March &#;&#; 5 May ) was an Italian Baroque painter, printmaker and draftsman, of the Genoese school.

    He is best known now for his etchings, and as the inventor of the printmaking technique of monotyping.
